having googled many sites, i noticed very few licensed therapist advertise as "Christian counselor." Perhaps they feel like i do in that they do not wish to limit their practice to only Chrisians, or they don't want to misinform people who are looking for a counselor. I am a Christian and I very much enjoy working within this framework. However, most of the people who see me do not share my faith perspective. This is absolutely wonderful! I have enjoyed working with people who are buddist, athiest, agnostic, swingers, singers, and gypsies. I trust that if you took a survey of the many licensed therapist in the area, you would find many of us are both Christian and we enjoy working with all. You will find me open and honoring to your perspective. I am not a "bible teacher" or preacher and if you don't bring faith up, i am not likely to either. If faith and/or spirituality is important to you then i am open to those conversations.

For the Christian community looking for counseling, a word of advise. Why not first start with your local church and/or pastor. many churches offer counseling at no charge and some ministers have a gift in this area. I also suspect that pastors would not object to you doing both. Both pastoral counseling and professional counseling.
